T-Ball Derby Days--It's a Whole New Ball Game!Updated Tuesday February 6, 2018 by Beth Jones.
Over the years, many parents told us that they simply skipped T-Ball because it was nothing but “organized chaos.” While we believe that baseball is the best game in the world, there are a few who think it may be just too slow and complicated for pre-K and kindergarten kids.
We listened! And then we recruited an expert! Scott Nathanson is a long-time ABR Coach and also the founder of CoachN’s FUNdamentals, an organization that has been running “ready for baseball” classes in preschools and elementary schools all over Arlington for several years. Together, we have developed a unique T-Ball program that gives kids and coaches alike an experience to remember.
Over the past four seasons, we have implemented and refined our “Game & Derby Days” to combine traditional game play with exciting, team-building competitions that engage young players at their level, while building baseball skills for the future. From our “Crazy Critter Base Race,” to the ever-popular “Hit Like a Jedi” we engage kids’ imaginations while providing professionally-vetted, skill-based cooperative competition.
The feedback has been fantastic--from coaches and parents alike--that our method provides our parent coaches with the tools, structure, and support they need, while giving our Little Sluggers an enduring bond with baseball. This makes ABR an ideal choice for parents looking to introduce their youngsters to team sports.
We hope you and your Little Slugger will join us for an exciting season. It’s a whole new ball game!
